Each mini skein is 20 grams, 87 yards.  Mix and match or pair with full skeins of Cottage Fingering for all your colorwork needs!  Cottage Fingering features 19.5 micron untreated merino wool. Untreated means this yarn base is 100% merino wool, without superwash treatment. This is a 4 ply yarn with incredible softness, a nice smooth texture, and a bouncy hand. I love the way this yarn knits up and it is a great yarn for stitch work like lace and cables as it has wonderful stitch definition. Cottage Yarns are an excellent choice for colorwork and fair isle knitting. While this is a pure wool yarn, it is not at all scratchy and is next to skin soft. Because this yarn is not treated, it requires hand washing only as the wool will felt.  This yarn is certified cruelty free.  Yarn Details:  Cottage Fingering, merino wool 20 Grams/ 87 Yards4ply/ Fingering WeightRecommended Needle Size: 2-4 Garments made from these yarns should be washed in cool or room temperature water with minimal agitation (it is agitation and heat that causes wool to felt) and laid flat to air dry.  This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun! I do my very best to accurately photograph my yarns but please note that not all monitors are the same. My yarn is made in my smoke-free, pet free studio in Rockland Maine.
