I was recently requested to write up a pattern for a kids fringe crop top! Even though it’s only 50 degrees out today it’s hot in other parts of the world right?! 🙂 So the fringe crop top was born! I think it’s definitely a crochet pattern staple to have when you have little ones running around. It’s super cute for photo shoots or to just wear outside during the hot summer days. I included 3 different sizes but it is VERY easy to adjust even further if you need to. To make it wider, add more chains to the starting chain. To make it longer or shorter, add or take away rows. Be sure to follow and tag me on Instagram (@evelynandpeter) with all your fringe crop top makes! Materials: Worsted (4) weight cotton yarn. 50-80 yards depending on size made. I used Paintbox cotton yarn. 4.00mm crochet hook Yarn needle Sizes: Pattern is written as follows S(M,L). Each top fits a wide range due to the adjustable straps. You can easily adjust your size even further by adding more or less rows to suit your needs. Small: Infant Medium: 12-24 months Large: Toddler Pattern: Ch 37(41,45) Row 1: 1 Dc in 3rd Ch from hook and each Ch across. 36(40,44 Dc) Turn. Don’t forget the Ch 2 from the beginning of the row counts as 1 Dc. Row 2: Ch 2 (does not count as St here and throughout) 1 Dc in each St across. 36(40,44 Dc) Turn. Medium Only: Repeat Row 2, one more time. Large Only: Repeat Row 2 two more times. Row 3(4,5):Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 34(38,42 Dc) Turn. Row 4(5,6): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 32(36,40 Dc) Turn. Row 5(6,7): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 30(34,38 Dc) Turn. Row 6(7,8): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 28(32,36 Dc) Turn. Row 7(8,9): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 26(30,34 Dc) Turn. Row 8(9,10): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 24(28,32 Dc) Turn. Row 9(10,11): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 22(26,30 Dc) Turn. Row 10(11,12): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 20(24,28 Dc) Turn. Row 11(12,13): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 18(22,26 Dc) Turn. Row 12(13,14): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 16(20,24 Dc) Turn. Row 13(14,15): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 14(18,22 Dc) Turn. Row 14(15,16): Ch 2. Dc2tog, 1 Dc across until you reach the last 2 stitches. Dc2tog. 12(16,20 Dc) Do not cut yarn. Ch 100(125,150). Tie off. Join yarn to the top corner of the last row made on the other side. Make the second strap- Ch 100(125,150) Tie off. Weave in all ends and add Fringe. You will take the straps you just made and weave them back and fourth “corset style” by inserting the strap in between the end stitches at the end of the rows. View picture below for reference.
