James David Graham Niven (1 March 1910 – 29 July 1983) was an English actor and novelist who was popular both in Europe and the US. Niven appeared in nearly a hundred films, and many shows for TV. He also began writing books, with considerable commercial success. David Niven played James Bond in the second Casino Royale film in 1967. (The first was a TV movie in 1954.) Peter Sellers was also in that Casino Royale. David Niven played Sir Charles Lytton is several Pink Panther live action movies.
